(x)clusive!: Deep dive into Korea at the Korea Travel Fair 2023 in Singapore
Organized by Korea Tourism Organization (Singapore), the Korea Travel Fair 2023 successfully concluded last weekend. Boasting more than 55 exhibitors, the 3-day event saw more than tens of thousands of visitors visiting Our Tampines Hub. This travel fair was by far the most extensive and largest travel fair organized by Korea Tourism Organization (Singapore) in Singapore.
In conjunction with the ‘Visit Korea 2023-2024’ campaign, the Korea Tourism Organization (Singapore) provided a platform for exhibitors to promote their destinations, packages, and products while offering consumers an opportunity to delve deeper and learn more about the different regions in Korea. There were also exhibitors providing K-beauty, wellness, and the traditional arts present.

Regional Tourism
Representatives from 9 regions (including various metropolitan cities and provincial tourism organizations) were present at the Travel Fair to provide deeper insights about the attractions and festivals in their area. Mini activities unique to their regions were also conducted to engage the people attending the fair.
The 9 regional tourism organizations present at the Korea Travel Fair 2023 included Busan, Jeju, Daejeon, Gwangju, Gangwon Province, Gyeongsangbuk Province, Gyeongsangnam Province, Jeollabuk Province, and Jeollanam Province. K-Culture Travel Events 100
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Korea Tourism Organization had launched 100 K-Culture-Tourism Event for ‘Visit Korea 2023-2024’ earlier this year, where the 100 curated events encompass fields including culture, arts, content, sports, games, food, and architecture. These events were selected to allow travelers from around the world to get a first hand experience of the charm and appeal of Korean culture.
The introduction of the ‘K-Culture Travel Events 100’ handbook at the information booth and the setup of the ‘K-Festivals’ booths promoting the Boryeong Mud Festival, Gimje Horizon Festival, and Andong International Mask Festival at the Korea Travel Fair 2023 also offered a quick glimpse of what you can expect when you visit Korea during the period where the festivals are held.
Travel Talk Show with Lee Do Hyun
The highlight of the Korea Travel Fair 2023 was undeniably the appearance of popular rising actor Lee Do Hyun, where he graced the opening ceremony and participated in the travel talk show. More than a thousand fans were present at Our Tampines Hub since morning, braving the sweltering heat just to catch a glimpse of the charismatic actor.
The neverending cheers and constant screams since Lee Do Hyun’s arrival were no doubt a clear indication of his popularity. Clearly overwhelmed by the love and support from the crowd that morning, Lee Do Hyun’s shy and bashful greetings were compensated by his polite mannerisms and adorable smiles.
The highlight of the travel talk show was when Lee Do Hyun started sharing his favourite filming locations (from dramas that he previously starred in). Other than what attractions there were in the area, he also gave insights on what food he tried and would recommend.

- The Glory – Cheongju Central Park (Located in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do)
- The Glory – Sodolhang Harbour (Located in Jumunjin, Gangneung, Gangwon-do)
- The Glory – Songdo (Located in Incheon)
Fans present also got to know Lee Do Hyun a little better through the ‘Top 3’ segment of the travel talk show, including his Top 3 favourite food, the Top 3 items that he must bring with him while travelling, and his Top 3 food that he is confident of cooking.

Aside from the focus on K-Culture, the Korea Tourism Organization also set up a K-Wellness booth to share about more places in Korea where tourists can enjoy activities that cater to both their physical health and mental wellness. One of the activities that drew a constant flow of crowd was the tasting of Korean Traditional Tea.
Some of the K-Start Up companies also got to introduce their services and products to the general public through the Korea Travel Fair 2023. They are namely global healthcare expert BT Medic, global accommodation booking platform STAYFOLIO, unmanned photo printing service SOC SELPIC, unique private dining experience that combines art and food Haenyeo’s Kitchen, and theatrical performing arts company BRUSH THEATER.
