The Capitol Theatre was buzzing with excitement last Friday as swarms of ecstatic IDs (B.I’s fandom name) gathered to hype up with B.I! Fresh off yet another successful concert, B.I made a triumphant return to Singapore for his B.I 2024 Tour – Hype Up, making this his third visit three years in a row and he certainly did not disappoint! Fans from all around the region flocked to watch him perform.
Despite a no-frills stage setup, the concert truly lived up to its name as B.I kept the crowd energised with all his hits, including fan favourites like Illa Illa, 4 Letters, BTBT, and Cosmos. In true B.I fashion, he didn’t just stay on the stage but ventured into the audience countless times, delivering limitless fan service – even showing off his washboard abs to the delight of his screaming fans.
Although he denies it, his impressive command of English made it even easier for him to connect with local fans. Despite having a translator on hand, he rarely needed help translating. In fact, he even promised a couple in the audience that he would sing a congratulatory song for them if they were married by the time they attended his next concert in Singapore.
B.I is not only a skilled performer but also a talented songwriter. During an outfit change, his guest act of the show, Korean-Australian soloist Leo made his Singapore debut with the song Farewell, penned by none other than the star of the night himself.
The concert was high on energy that B.I was continuously running around on stage. Thus, to show their undying love and support to their favourite Korean global star, while also giving him a breather, fans recorded a short message that was shown on screen. Part of the message read, ‘so rest a little bit while we do a sing-a-long for you..’ followed by voices from the audience singing the song 4 Letters. How sweet!
The concert was slightly over two hours long with B.I giving us a sneak preview of an unreleased demo as part of his encore, before ending the night with the song Cosmos. We were so hyped up after the concert that we already can’t wait for more great hits from B.I in the near future!
