It has been barely two weeks since we last met BTOB’s maknae, Yook Sungjae, at HallyuPopFest 2018, but the K-pop idol was back in town to meet his fans at a special Meet and Greet session, organized by Viu and Samsung!
The open Meet and Greet session attracted hundreds of Melody (official name for fans of BTOB), who were eager and excited to meet him.
Fan-service King
Despite touching down in Singapore mere hours before the event started, the idol was all-smiles throughout the Meet and Greet session. He did heart hand-signs and waved enthusiastically to the fans, and even said “I love you~” shyly whenever his name was called. As a treat for the fans, Sungjae even serenaded the crowd with his rendition of the hit OST ‘Confession’, from the Korean movie ‘Temptation of Wolves’.
English & Collabs with Singaporean Artistes
When asked about his English proficiency after his trip back from Los Angeles, Sungjae responded with the pick-up line, “I can’t open my eyes cause you guys so shining!” – to which he immediately cringed at his own answer, but the fans loved it because he was just too adorable!
Sungjae also shared how he has been expanding his music choices to EDM and other genres of music recently, and that he listens to music from local singer-songwriter, Gentle Bones. Should the opportunity arise, he would love to collaborate with Singaporean musicians in the future. Which local artiste would you want Sungjae to collaborate with?
Fan Games with Sungjae
Five lucky Viu fans who were previously chosen through a contest had the opportunity to get up-close and personal with Sungjae, scoring personalised ringtones, wake-up calls, and even a hug from the idol! Some fans also had the chance to take a group wefie with Sungjae as well.
Twenty sets of the latest Samsung Note 9 were also personally autographed by Sungjae, which will be sold at Bugis Junction’s Samsung store. So if you are looking for a change of phone, perhaps this is the perfect opportunity to do so!

Supportive Maknae
Before the Meet and Greet session ended, Sungjae promised to return to Singapore together with his BTOB hyungs, real soon. We shall hold you to your word, Sungjae!
Despite being in Singapore for a whirlwind 7 hours, Sungjae took time to visit +82 PlusEightTwo (a cafe opened by fellow BTOB member Eunkwang) in his attempt to support his Leader hyung.
