Known as ‘Reversal Idols’ due to the sudden shot in popularity after their appearance on popular reality programme, Produce 101 Season 2, NU`EST W – Aron, JR, Baekho, and Ren – made a public appearance at Plaza Hollywood for their 2017 NU`EST W Special Concert in Hong Kong media conference, immediately upon their arrival in the city.
This open media conference attracted more than 1000 ㄴㅇㅅㅌs (official name for fans of NU`EST), as they filled up all three levels of the mall. To catch a glimpse of their idols, many ㄴㅇㅅㅌs started queueing since early morning and even prepared hand banners and various support placards to welcome them.
Screams filled the mall the moment NU`EST W appeared. The boys greeted the crowd in Cantonese, which drew endless praises of “Cute!” and “Accurate!” by the fans. It’s been two years since the group’s last visit to Hong Kong and NU`EST W expressed their happiness to be back again, more so because they get to meet their fans. In addition, they are hoping to show different sides of themselves via this special concert and are hoping that ㄴㅇㅅㅌs see their growth.
The members also shared interesting episodes and talked about how their musical style changed over the years. Not forgetting about their much deserved yet long awaited first win on a music broadcast programme since their debut, with their latest title track ‘Where You At‘.
Known for his fluent English, Aron represented the group in greeting the fans and charming them with how effortlessly he was in speaking the language. Another highlight was when Baekho sang a verse of ‘想你的夜‘ (Think of You on a Lonely Night). Even though he couldn’t remember the lyrics to the chorus in full, our ears were definitely blessed with his honey vocals.
It was evident that NU`EST W was excited to meet their fans as throughout the media conference, they were all smiles and couldn’t stop waving and throwing endless hearts.
The special concert that will be happening tomorrow night will be at the same location as their first showcase in Hong Kong, so do be there to show them all the love and support!
