To celebrate the opening of their new VLTN pop-up store at IFC Mall, Valentino held a grand opening ceremony at the mall’s atrium on 27th October, and EXO’s maknae was invited to attend the event.
To tie in with VLTN’s 2018 Pre-Spring Resorts 2018 Collection concept of a sporty yet classy style, the brand invited Hong Kong’s high jump athlete Cecilia Yeung and snooker star Marco Fu to be part of the extravagant event. And even though local celebrities, in particular, Kelly Chen and Pakho Chau, as well as Japanese model, Lala Takahashi, were also spotted. The one who garnered the most number of screaming fans, was undeniably Sehun – a member of one of the world’s most popular boy groups, EXO. Even before his appearance, the mall was filled with EXO-Ls (an affectionate term for fans of EXO) who were waiting to catch a glimpse of their idol. They even sang along to EXO’s songs and also chanted “OH-SE-HUN, E-X-O” non-stop to show their love and support for their favourite maknae.
The IFC atrium was transformed into a metallic street basketball court for the pop-up store. Unlike the usual Valentino signature roses at their boutiques, the pop-up store radiates a fresh contemporary and energetic vibe. The store also features limited edition sportswear and sporting goods ranging from basketballs, yoga mats to baseball caps; all of which combines the fine artistry of Valentino with trendy active sportswear.
VLTN debuted at New York Fashion Week in May this year, and will be opening numerous pop-up stores globally. Hong Kong is their first stop, with Tokyo, Shanghai and Seoul coming up next.
