Ferlyn G, former member of Korean-Singapore Girl Group SKarf, recently launched her ‘First‘ solo single. To kick start her debut, she appeared at Bugis+ last Friday, put up a special performance and held an autograph session. Tiny-G‘s very own rapper, Mint, who was featured on the title track ‘LuvTalk‘ also turned up at the scene to lend her full support to the Singapore singer.
Stepping on stage with a rocking chic outfit, the gorgeous purple-haired female greeted her fans, even giving a shy “I love you guys” shout out. The singer also showcased her multi-lingual skills with English, Mandarin and Korean during the exchange.
On her close friendship with Mint, the duo shared that they first met on a TV programme back in Korea. Ferlyn even went on to say excitedly that she met the fellow K-pop idol in secret (without her manager knowing) for ice-cream. For their collaborative track, the singer also mentioned that she did the rap arrangement and even penned the Mandarin rap, adding a personal touch to her album.
In the following ment segment, the MC commented aloud on the Thai rapper’s petite frame, to which Mint denied and burst out “I am tall!” in Mandarin. This being her third trip to Singapore, Mint shared that Singapore is rather similar to Thailand in terms of food, and she enjoyed hanging around the place, even heading to Sentosa for a round of fun the day before, and hope to come back often. Ferlyn also took the chance to thank Mint with a hug for specially coming down to the sunny isle to show her support, while Mint also thanked the other for the featuring initiation, showing their deep friendship with one another.
Besides performing to ‘LuvTalk’ with Mint, Ferlyn G also showcased her strong vocals with Mandarin ballad track, ‘不见不散‘.
When asked about the difficulties on working on the solo single, the singer stated that both the stress and the workload are all up to her and that “this album is like, much and much effort, so thank you for buying, I’d sign nicely for you guys!”
After the autograph session, the two girls headed over to SAFRA Toa Payoh’s K-Box for the After-Party, where they spent some quality time with lucky fans. The fans not only got the chance to catch Ferlyn’s music videos before the official release, they also got to get up-close and personal with an engaging Q&A and game session too.
Many thanks to iGlobal Star for extending the invitation and all the best to our new home-grown talent, Ferlyn G!
