YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power in Shanghai gathered a strong crowd of 35,000 at the Shanghai Stadium last Saturday, August 30.
No doubt a night filled with exciting performances, 2NE1 took the stage as the opening act with their 2nd full album’s ‘Crush’. Following up with familiar hits such as ‘Fire’, ‘Come Back Home’ and ‘Gotta Be You’, bringing the audience to a high right from the start.
Epik High then joined the four divas with ‘With You’ and ‘Love Love Love’.
Having deemed ‘Power Rookies’ since their debut two weeks back, Winner no doubt grabbed the attention of many fans that evening with ‘Go Up’, ‘Empty’ and ‘Smile Again’.
Decked in gold outfits, BIGBANG took the stage next and as soon as they appeared, it became a mass karaoke session as the audience sang ‘Haru Haru’, ‘Bad Boy’ and ‘Fantastic Baby’ together.
The highlight of the concert was definitely the collaboration stages, where CL and G-Dragon performed ‘The Baddest Male’ (a twist from CL’s The Baddest Female), Seungri doing a parady of G-Dragon’s ‘Crayon’, Winner’s Mino and Dara with T.O.P’s ‘Doom Da Da’ and Epik High and Taeyang’s much anticipated ‘Eyes, Nose, Lips’. These are no doubt special performances that could only be seem at YG Family Concert.
How can we forget PSY’s infectious ‘Gangnam Style’, which was followed by ‘Right Now’, ‘Gentleman’ and ‘Champion’, spreading his fun to the audiences that night.
After a high-energy performance, 2NE1 continued with ‘I Am The Best’, ‘Scream’ and concluded their set with ‘Can’t Nobody’. The closing act was no other than BIGBANG with all-time favourites ‘Tonight’, ‘Feeling’, ‘Hands Up’, ‘Lies’ and ‘Heaven’.
What’s a concert without an encore stage, where the whole YG family appeared, running around the stage, showing close bonds between the different groups and basically just having fun, while singing to 2NE1’s ‘Go Away’, BIGBANG’s ‘Fantastic Baby’ and PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’. YG Family’s first concert in China was no doubt a huge success.
YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour will be having their next leg right here in Singapore on 13th/14th September before heading to Beijing on 19th October and Taiwan on 25th October.
