A lazy afternoon in a cozy room in KTO, a small group of media, bloggers and fans were invited to catch the preview episode of Channel U’s newest travel programme, A Date with K-Pop Stars, where those present that afternoon were able to catch a glimpse of the K-Pop stars shown in this season as they bring the host, Julie Tan, around Seoul to experience the local Korean culture.
After the preview, Julie sat down to have a mini press conference. During the session, Julie shared that she ate roughly five meals a day during the filming, and that she really loves Korean cuisine. Her most memorable instance was trying out the live octopus (Sannakji). Despite being the one that requested to try the dish, the actress could not help but shudder as she recalled the shock of feeling the active suction cups on her tongue.
Amongst the K-Pop stars on the show, Julie also mentioned that ZE:A’s Kwanghee made a lasting impression as he is someone that is very friendly and humorous. In her excitement, she also mentioned that she managed to catch a glimpse of her idol, Big Bang’s G-Dragon, performing on stage. On the difference between the Korean production team and the Singapore production team, she mentioned that Korean’s production team is huge, and there are few limitations on what’s being said on the programme.
Having stayed in Korea for two weeks, the actress recommended Korea’s Public Bathhouse(Jjimjilbang) as the place to visit and commented that “not only is the place good for beauty, you can also eat delicious snacks, so I strongly recommend the Jjimjilbang“. Last but not least, when asked which artistes she would love to work with again, Julie endearingly called out DAL★SHABET member, Jiyul’s name, saying that they still keep in contact and she would love to be featured in one of their MV with the girls.
(x)clusive also managed to grab a short interview with the lovely artiste, where she shared her thoughts on hosting the show, instances of language barriers, the star that made a lasting impression and the K-Pop artiste she would like to meet if there was a second season. Catch the interview below!
