As the final lap of their US tour, B.A.P (consisting of Yongguk, Himchan, Jongup, Daehyun, Youngjae and Zelo) held a sold out concert in Best Buy Theatre in New York City’s very own Time Square. In the two-hour performance, the boys charmed BABY’s with their overflowing charisma by performing to their hit tracks like Warrior and No Mercy as well as having special performances. Let’s take a look at some of the highlights below!

Starting with their first track Warrior, the boys caused the crowd to go wild (quite literally in the mosh pit) as they stood on stage with their white military-coat outfits. Going with the hype,  the boys went on with the song What The Hell, follow suit by another powerful dance track No Mercy, belting out the high notes as fans chant to the chorus of the song.

Coming back on stage decked in black suits, Yongguk and Daehyun sang the acoustic version of I Remember, sitting down as they serenade the fans. They were joined on stage by the other members for two other slow tracks, Secret Love and Rain Sound, with the fans singing along.

After that, the boys took the chance to formally introduce themselves, each of them trying their best to speak in English; their efforts paid off as fans cheered them on, encouraging them. Playing on their Matoki concept, the boys took turn to stand in front of the wide screen as it ‘scanned’ them for a profile, and they each took the chance to show off a bit of their talents – Zelo showed his famous L.E.T rapping skills, while Jongup satisfied the fans’ requests by flashing his abs. Throughout the concert, Youngjae told the fans that he was in charge of speaking English with Zelo, and even prompted Zelo to speak a few English verses to the fans.

For the special performance B.A.P split into duos, each performing a song that showcased their forte. Vocalists Youngjae and Daehyun performed I Believe I Can Fly, charming the ladies with their perfect high notes as the blue light cast a romantic effect on the audience. Following them were Zelo and Jongup, who did a dance to the song Teach Me How to Dougie and performed the song Don’t Give Up by Bang and Zelo. Last but not least, leader Yongguk appeared as a DJ on stage, hyping the crowd by doing a live remix before being joined by Himchan for a vocal and dance item of Sexy Clap.

After a video clip, the boys returned to stage, this time dressed in full black outfits, topped with punk-inspired leather jackets, performing to their latest comeback track One Shot. The track was followed by Punch, bringing on loud cheers and chants from the fans. With no time to lose, B.A.P continued with the track Fight for Freedom, calling for fans to throw their hands in the air with them.

The next song successfully brought the hype up by another notch, and it was no other than Power. During the performance, members Youngjae and Yongguk even splashed water on the fans. After which, they put on their rendition of My First Kiss, blowing kisses and doing body rolls and sexy dances to the loud beats as part of fan-service. As a finale to the concert, the boys performed pop-ballad track Goodbye, bidding the fans a goodbye after thanking them for their support before heading backstage.

But it wouldn’t be a concert without an encore stage, would it? Not wanting to leave, the fans chanted for the boys when the screen lit up again, showing the scenario of the boys returning to Planet Mato – this time, inviting the audience to join them. BABYs were in for a treat, because the encore stage actually featured four songs – mid-tempo song Coma, fun-loving beat of Dancing in the Rain, cuteness-filled Stop It and last but not least, the perfect song for parties, Crash, where all the backup dancers were invited on stage as well.

In comfortable tank tops and hoodies with their trademark B.A.P Matoki symbol printed on it, the boys sure knew how to create a fun atmosphere as they fooled around on stage; Yongguk and Himchan carried a hand-held camera at the last song, as they filmed the members and the crowd. Youngjae did not forget to gift the fans his trademark heart shape, Daehyun and Jongup had incorporated the heart signs into the choreography, and Zelo lingered around, wishing for the performance to last. After the second round of addressing the fans, thanking them once again (and leader Yongguk running out to ‘save’ a plushie), the exciting 2-hour concert finally drew to a close.

Singapore BABYs that had missed their US tour, don’t fret – the boys are heading down to Singapore on the 8th of August as part of their world tour. Make sure to grab your tickets from Fast Track Events, and details could be found here.
