Despite not having stepped into Malaysia for the past six years, TVXQ proved that their popularity didn’t dip one bit when they met the media and fans at the press conference venue hours before their TVXQ! Live World Tour <Catch Me> in Kuala Lumpur concert on 18th May 2013.
Decked in suits, TVXQ’s arrival to the press conference venue was met with hundreds of flashing cameras and the continuous shutter sound filled the air the entire session.
When asked on their thoughts of returning to Malaysia again after six years, the duo expressed that they actually miss performing in Malaysia and were sorry that they took so long to come back to meet their Malaysian fans. Yunho also mentioned that despite it being six years since they last stepped into Malaysia, the warm welcome from the fans was exactly what they remembered six years back and he was really thankful for that.
Changmin expressed that he felt regretful that they did not have the opportunity to really explore Malaysia as they arrived the night before and will be leaving immediately after the concert ends. Should there be a chance whereby they drop by Malaysia again, he really wants to walk around and explore Malaysia proper. Yunho added that the both of them usually stayed at hotels whenever they are having their concert tours, but this time around, they stayed at a resort, which is something really refreshing and different. As a result, he really wants to come back to a resort the next time they return to Malaysia. When asked by the Emcee as to whether he likes the sun and the hot weather, Yunho responded with “It’s very hot!” and “I like sun!” in English, tickling those who were present at the venue.
On what to expect for their TVXQ! Live World Tour <Catch Me> in Kuala Lumpur concert, Yunho commented that everything from the production to the stage layout to the seating plan were specially designed to provide an up-close and personal experience, where there will be ample opportunities for interaction and for fans to see them at close proximity while they are performing. Changmin also promised an exciting concert filled with elements of surprise and hoped that it will be a memorable night to all Cassiopeias who are attending.
Having travelled to different countries for various tours and performances, the duo mentioned that they try to speak the country’s language when they are there. Yunho added that they will most probably use English throughout the concert but understanding that the concert is being held in Malaysia and the fact that the pronunciation for the Malay language sounds good, he will definitely incorporate a little of it at the concert. He even demonstrated with ‘Aku Cinta Padamu’ which meant ‘I Love You’, bringing instant cheers by those who were at the press conference.
When asked if they had prepared anything special for their Malaysian fans, Yunho explained that the concept for this <Catch Me> tour is almost the same for every country. As such, he promised to showcase his all during his solo stage, which is something the fans should definitely look forward to.
On what the two of them do during their free time, Yunho mentioned that their schedules are really packed and they do not actually have much free time to themselves to travel. As such, he usually spends his free time going bowling. Now that summer is approaching, he would also like to try some water sports such as scuba diving.
It has been 10 years since Changmin first participated in variety programmes and he was thankful to have met friendly staff. In addition, the being involved on variety makes him want to give off a positive and healthy image, while bringing smiles to others. Being the supportive big brother, Yunho quickly assured everyone present that Changmin is doing really well and the programme is really funny, showcasing the close bond between the two.
Yunho was also asked on his thoughts with regards to his airport fashion, which usually garners loads of attention from both the media and the fans. He was thankful that people actually paid attention to but he wears but humbly denied the claim that he is a fashion icon. He added that he usually discusses with his staff on his attire and is grateful to everyone who thinks that he looks good in whatever he wears. He usually dresses casually along with sneakers, but he personally prefers sandals. He even caught everyone by surprise when he said “Should there be an opportunity, I would really love to show you my sandals.”
To end off the session, Changmin mentioned that he was really sorry for letting Malaysian Cassiopeias wait for six years. The duo had performed lots of embarrassing acts during their previous concerts, but it is probably the first time fans in Malaysia are going to witness them. As such, he hopes that they look forward to a night full of exciting and suave performances from the duo.
