Viewers ‘got into action’ with Korean adaptation of hit reality series, Top Gear Korea, as one of the hosts, Yeon Jung-Hoon, made a surprise visit to Singapore last Saturday afternoon at Jurong Point Shopping Mall.

He was at a SingTel mioTV roadshow promoting the second season of Top Gear Korea which will debut on KIX (Starhub Cable TV Ch.518) and KIX HD (SingTel mioTV Ch.309) on 22nd January 2013, and airs every Tuesday at 9pm. Top Gear Korea (Season 2) will feature an impressive race between Cobra Helicopter and a Corvette ZR1, and a never-seen-before car football match between Korea and Japan, among other experiments that will push the boundaries. Not forgetting the appearances of 4 Minute’s Ga-Yoon and Hyun-A, actor Lee Sung-Jae and actress Song Sun-Mee on the show.

Ardent fans were present early Saturday afternoon to catch the appearance of Yeon Jung-Hoon at Jurong Point Shopping Mall. He was greeted by screaming fans when he appeared on stage and three lucky winners who participated in a round of stage games walked away with prizes sponsored by Celestial Tiger Entertainment.

Though it was a really short session, his friendliness no doubt left a deep impression in many.

So what’s Top Gear Korea about?

The multi-award winning UK show now has a unique Korean spin. Top Gear Korea features popular elements from the UK version such as the Stig and its very own version of the Top Gear track and studio. The presenters will also test supercars to the limit. Korean celebrities will also be invited to the studio to take part in the show’s version of the original “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” segment called “Star Lap Time”.

Hosted by Kim Jin-Pyo, Cho Min-Ki and, and Yeon Jung-Hoon, Top Gear Korea retains all the trademarks of this iconic motoring show. Viewers can expect informative car reviews, an all-action test track and exciting challenges.

Featuring the impressive race between Cobra Helicopter and a Corvette ZR1, Top Gear Korea is packed with super cars with serious power ups. Never-seen-before Car football match between Korea and Japan, thrilling challenges of a Volkswagen Mini running on the Han River and an exhilarating car skydiving stunt in Arizona brings the highlights of Top Gear Korea (Season 2) to the acme of motorsports entertainment.

Viewers can expect to see a star-studded line up which includes celebrities such as actor Lee Sung-Jae, actress Song Sun-Mee and top K-Pop sensations such as Ga-Yoon and Hyun-A from 4 minute – who also appear in the show’s equivalent of “Star in a Reasonably Priced Car” known as “Star Lap Time” in the show.

And not forgetting The Stig who also appears in Top Gear Korea who sets the definitive power laps for performance cars featured on the show. There is some debate in the Korean media over whether it’s the same Stig as the UK show. Some commentators some say that the Korean version is overly expressive with his hand gestures compared to the British version. Nonetheless, The Stig’s driving prowess in the show remains awe-inspiringly impressive.
