SINGAPORE, 2 JULY 2012 – Aspiring K-Pop superstars can now look forward to the wildly popular tvN K-Pop Star Hunt which is now opened for registration for its second season. Organised by tvN, CJ Entertainment & Media (CJ E&M) as well as CUBE Entertainment, tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2 seeks to discover the next K-Pop superstars to showcase their talents amongst budding performers within Asia.
tvN K-Pop Star Hunt is a talent competition which made its debut in 2011. The competition aims to uncover budding performers with likeable personality and great passion for singing and dancing. Through K-Pop Star Hunt, talents across Asia will have the incredible opportunity to appear on the goggle box and be one step closer to realising their dreams.
TWO NEW COUNTRIES TO COMPETE IN SEASON 2
Following the phenomenally successful talent show of Season 1, this year, tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2 proudly announces Malaysia and Japan as the sixth and seventh auditioning country along with Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines.
Together with tvN, representatives from CJ E&M and CUBE Entertainment will select the most outstanding contestants from each territory for the preliminary auditions. Contestants who survive the first battle will be flown to Seoul for professional training with CJ E&M and CUBE Entertainment, in preparation for the final show-down in Korea. The ultimate winner of tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2 will receive an intensive professional training for K-POP Singer by CJ E&M and CUBE Entertainment, along with an album release and even a chance to make a debut stage appearance on 2013 MAMA, the leading international music award show in Korea.
In 2011, Thai representative, Sorn, won the top prize for tvN K-Pop Star Hunt, bagging an exclusive contract with South Korea’s top record label Cube Entertainment, home to A-list pop groups BEAST, 4Minute and female artiste G.NA. Thanks to the reality series, Sorn has gained an extensive number of fans and has moved to Seoul for her debut album training. The first season of tvN K-Pop Star Hunt was widely popular in Asia, attracting nearly 50 million viewers.

tvN K-Pop Star Hunt S2 can be entered online at http://www.tvnstarhunt2.com/starhuntentry. To participate, simply record the best rendition of any K-Pop sing-and-dance song before uploading to the official website. K-Pop fans of any age will have more than 6 weeks to upload their video submissions as registrations close on Sunday, 26 August 2012 at 23:59:59hrs.
The public can also join in and root for their favourite video or participant by leaving comments on the website. The website’s redesigned interactive interface allows viewers to browse the section under “What’s Hot” and share their feedback easily. PRE-AUDITION ROADSHOW ON 28 JULY
tvN has also added a new element to this year’s search by incorporating a Pre-Audition Roadshow for the Singapore’s leg of the search. This event is especially created to give an additional opportunity for potential participants to join tvN K-Pop Star Hunt Season 2. Potential participants just have to bring their performing song in digital form and head down to Plaza Singapura’s main atrium on Saturday 28 July 2012, between 12noon to 6pm. tvN will be onsite to lend a hand with professional-quality audio and video equipment to help budding talents in Singapore record and submit their video on the spot!
