[MTV] Catch Big Bang featured on MTV World Stage, on May 4th!

On Friday May 4, Korean music sensation and YG Entertainment recording artists BIGBANG will become the first Asian pop artists to headline an episode of MTV WORLD STAGE, MTV’s weekly live performance series broadcast into more than a half-billion homes worldwide.

MTV WORLD STAGE: BIGBANG features three live performances from the sold-out debut of the “Alive Tour” at Seoul’s Olympic Stadium in March, as well as other show-stopping live performances.  This thirty-minute global edition features “Fantastic Baby,” “Bad Boy,” “Hands Up,” a montage of hits, and their latest #1 single, “Blue.”  MTV WORLD STAGE: BIGBANG premieres Friday, May 4 at 10:00PM (Indonesia) , 11:00PM (Singapore / Hong Kong / Philippines) , Midnight (Malaysia).

BIGBANG is one of South Korea’s most popular music acts, having built a massive global fan base since their debut in 2007.  Along with the fifty-plus awards the five-member group have collected throughout their career, MTV audiences have voted BIGBANG the recipients of two MTV Video Music Award Japan awards and the “Best Worldwide Act” at the 2011 MTV EMA.  Further demonstrating their growing international appeal, BIGBANG are nominated in the “Best Fan” category in MTV Italy’s 2012 TRL Awards.

BIGBANG are currently on a 25-city, 16-country BIGBANG ALIVE tour across Asia, North and South America and Europe.  Their latest EP, Alive, has already spawned five Top 10 singles on Billboard’s K-pop’s Hot 100 and charted at 150 on the Billboard 200, the first Korean artist with a Korean album to do so.  Alive also charted at #5 on US iTunes Top Albums, and its first single, “Blue,” debuted at #1 on over seven digital charts in Korea and at #1 on Billboard’s K-pop Hot 100.

Shot in high definition, MTV WORLD STAGE has featured artists such as Lady Gaga, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kasabian, Linkin Park, Coldplay, Black Eyed Peas, 30 Seconds to Mars, Snoop Dogg, Kid Rock, Green Day, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Katy Perry and many more.
