Catch Comic Martial Arts: JUMP in Singapore!
You don’t have to travel all the way to Korea to watch one of Korea’s most famous non-verbal performance. The non-verbal performance “JUMP” is heading to our Singapore shores for the third time this coming August. For the period of 12 – 15 August 2011, JUMP will be staging 4 performances at the Esplanade Theaters.
JUMP is the first non-verbal performance to infuse blend Korean fighting arts of Tae-kwon-do with Tae-Kyun, other Asian martial arts and acrobatics with a compelling and hilarious narrative.
JUMP centers around a typical Korean family from an autocratic head of the household – the grandfather, to a drunken uncle, a tae kwon do expert mother to the awkward potential son-in-law. Each member of the family is a martial arts expert and loves to compete their martial arts skills among themselves. The plot thickens when two burglars break into the family home in the middle of the night and a mighty battle takes place when the family discovers the intruders.
During my trip in Seoul in December, I had the opportunity to watch the JUMP performance and I’ve enjoyed it very much. JUMP not only has an interesting plot, it also manages to engage the audience. JUMP is a good performance to watch and enjoy with friends and family. For all those who have always wanted to watch this performance, here’s your chance!
