(x)clusive!: MONSTA X ‘The Connect’ World Tour in Hong Kong Press Conference
MONSTA X – Shownu, Jooheon, Wonho, Kihyun, Minhyuk, Hyungwon, and I.M. – made a public appearance at Plaza Hollywood for their 2018 MONSTA X ‘The Connect’ World Tour in Hong Kong press conference, earlier this evening.
This open press conference attracted more than 500 MONBEBEs (official name for fans of MONSTA X), as they filled up all three levels of the mall, in an attempt to catch a glimpse of their idols.
Screams filled the mall the second MONSTA X appeared. Greeting the crowd in Cantonese, the boys thanked Hong Kong MONBEBEs for their continuous love and support over the years. The organizers also gave a ‘MONSTA X’ calligraphy artwork to the members as a welcome gift to wish them success for their concert the next day.
On what fans can expect at their concert, MONSTA X revealed that special stages and unit performances were prepared, and the only way to find out is to attend their show! You hear them, MONBEBEs? Have you gotten your tickets to their concert?
MONSTA X also teased interesting incidents that happened while filming their variety show ‘MONSTA X-RAY 3’ and urged their fans to catch the episodes as they would not be disappointed!
Hyungwon has recently been introducing new music through his DJ activities and stood on stage at Ultra Korea 2018, the nation’s largest EDM festival, as DJ H.ONE. With regard to his achievement, Hyungwon shared how honoured he was to be given the opportunity to be on stage, mashing up K-Pop and EDM music, and was thankful for the positive response received. Hong Kong MONBEBEs, do you remember when Hyungwon came for MIX AND THE CITY – HONG KONG EPISODE last August? He also expressed his regret of not being able to attend the group’s concert in Hong Kong last year and promised to make it all up at tomorrow’s show!
Forget about the cliche tteokbokki, kimbap, and kimchi jjigae! Eat like a local and try ganjang gejang (raw crabs marinated in soy sauce | 간장게장) as recommended by the members of MONSTA X. MONBEBEs, do remember to add that to your bucket list the next time you visit Seoul! Adventurous Kihyun admitted that he would like to try stinky tofu (fermented tofu | 臭豆腐) in Hong Kong if given the opportunity.

It was evident that MONSTA X was excited to meet their fans as throughout the press conference, they were all smiles and couldn’t stop waving and smiling.
