The Korean Night Festival, which is organized largely by volunteers from Daehan Education Centre, aims to celebrate, promote and raise the awareness of the vibrancy and diversity of the Korean culture. The 5th edition of this annual culture and arts festival is slated to attract about 600 visitors this year. Visitors to the event will be able to experience the richness of Korea’s cultural heritage and its modern allure through a range of exhibits including Korean traditional costumes and games. The festival culminates with a celebration of Korean pop music through a riveting display of songs and dances performed by talented groups within our community.

This year’s Korean Night Festival is turning to the highly popular Korean variety show, Running Man, for inspiration! Running Man has amassed a huge and loyal following, securing its position as one of the most watched programme not only in Korea but also internationally. As such, the theme this year is set as ‘Don’t Run, but Walk!’ with the aim of creating a memorable and unique time for those attending by intensifying their level of participation in the festival. The introduction of “Running Man” in the Korean Night Festival will definitely involve a new twist to the iconic features of the show whilst maintaining its authenticity. To sum it up: Unpredictable. Hilarious. Exhilarating!

What’s a festival without performances! A K-Pop competition will be held during the festival with both the dance and song category, so do keep a look out for it. This year, Traditional Korean Dance will also be introduced for those interested in the cultural side. The host of the festival, Kyung Hoon, will be doubling up. Other than the role as Emcee, he will be showcasing his own solo act with his beat boxing skills. Studio de S crew together with Jay Song t also set to rock the stage that night! Doesn’t that sound really exciting already?

To complete the festival, various booths will be set up too. There will be a Hanbok booth for those who are interested to try them on and photos will be taken for them for keepsake. Following closely to the theme set, game stations will be set up. The game booths will consist of a few games which are specially selected form the variety show.
