So you think you can Cover a K-pop dance routine?

For all those out there who loves to learn your favorite kpop dance routine or do cover versions of your favorite Kpop artists, here is your chance to earn some recognition from your hobby and hard work.

K-pop has been garnering the attention of fans from Asia to as far away as Europe and the Americas. In conjunction with the 2010-2012 Visit Korea Year campaign which was designed to promote Korean tourism among international tourists, the organizers have come up with a K-pop Cover Dance Festival. K-pop Cover Dance Festival is an event to celebrate and embrace the current craze of the Korean pop culture. It hopes to be able to unite the people from all around the world through the love of Korean pop music and dance.

In the K-POP Cover Dance Festival, teams who have pass the first-round of the preliminary online competition will move on to the regional competitions, which will be judged by a panel of industry experts from famous Korean choreographers, musicians, commercial directors, etc. The teams who pass the regional offline preliminaries will have a chance to take part in the finals in Korea and enjoy the festival .

Join as a supporter on the Cover Dance Festival Executive Office (, register your video (video for the competition/make-a-film image) on the menu to join, and complete the form to participate.

Online competition starts from 1 June 2011 to 24 July 2011. So what are you waiting for? Gather your video camera and your friends and start filming your Kpop cover!

As of 1st July 2011, there are 15 videos entries uploaded from Singapore. To view and support the entries from Singapore, please click here. Based on the stats, Singapore is one of the countries that have the lowest number of votes.

Screening Criteria:

Participants who made it through to the final competition will have the previlage of being invited to the 2011 Hallyu Dream Concert with the chance to meet Hallyu stars.
