The long awaited results from Singapore E Entertainment Awards have been released!

There are many unexpected results; with Taiwanese seasoned girl group S.H.E members nabbing 5 awards,

Derrick Hoh (He Wei Jian) outshining seniors JJ Lin and Stefanie Sun for Most Popular Local Singer,

and Xiao Gui nabbing Most Popular Male Singer over his best buddy-cum-mentor Xiao Zhu (Show Luo).

As for the most coveted Most Popular Korean Artiste award us Kpop fans were anticipating, it goes to… none other than High High Big Bang!

With just a track record of performing once in Singapore last year at Kpop Night 2010, the 5 charismatic members have sure made their mark in the hearts of local Kpoppers! Big Bang emerged over the many groups such as DBSK, Super Junior, SHINee, 2PM, Beast and SNSD to win this award.

G-D says it all

There has been no indication of the difference in voting counts, but it’s quite amazing to know that, despite SHINee topped with the number of Twitter and Facebook shares that counted over 2000 and 3000 respectively, they lost to Big Bang’s 185 and 836 Twitter and Facebook shares. (Maybe VIPs are silent killers, we do not know. ^^)

Well, it would be just appropriate for same company YG Entertainment’s SE7EN to represent Big Bang for a few words at the ceremony.

Other awards related to Kpop were:

Radio 100.3 U Chart Song of the Year – My Logo by Hangeng (yes, considering him who was part of SJ)

Most Popular U-Weekly CoverSuper Junior (Issue 234)

Lucky SE7EN alert

Fans of SE7EN must be highly anticipating his performance coming Saturday on 2nd April! Well you have to be, as he promised not to just bring his usual performances but something extra, fresh and new! A short translation of an OMY article:

Considering that he just came to Singapore earlier on for a showcase to promote his album “Digital Bounce”, when the organisers were planning his performance segment, SE7EN immediately agreed to think up special new ideas, hoping to surprise everyone on “E Entertainment”‘s stage at Singapore Indoor Stadium, and was very sincere about it.

Also, it was revealed that SE7EN will be arriving to Singapore on Friday, but will be escorted from the airport via Changi Airport Jet Quay VIP Terminal. From what was told, SE7EN hopes to make it for the rehearsals for April 2nd’s show but knowing Friday is a school day, he does not wish to reveal his flight details to cause any disruptions for fans who have school or work.

Singapore E Entertainment Awards will be happening this Saturday, 2nd April 2011 at Singapore Indoor Stadium. You may get more information on ticketing over here at their SISTIC page or visit their official page for more details.
